Discover the Best of Egypt: Hurghada, Cairo, and Sail the Nile Aboard a Dahabiya
Embark on a unique and fascinating journey through Egypt, where you will explore the ancient wonders of Cairo, sail the majestic Nile aboard a Dahabiya, and enjoy the sun on the beautiful beaches of Hurghada. This is a tour designed to offer you the best of Egyptian culture, millenary history, and the most impressive natural landscapes.
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Your adventure begins with your arrival at Cairo Airport. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our team, who will provide assistance and take you directly to your hotel. You will have the rest of the evening free to rest and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
Day 2: Exploring the Wonders of Giza
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Giza, where you can marvel at the impressive pyramids.
You will visit the famous Great Pyramid of Cheops, the majestic Sphinx, and the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. You will also tour the Noble Tombs, where you can learn about the history and significance of these monuments.
After the visit, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then return to the hotel to rest.
This tour lasts approximately 4 to 5 hours, and if you wish, you can opt for an optional tour that includes entry to the Great Pyramid or a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Day 3: Desert Safari and Wadi El Rayan
Today will be a day of adventure in the desert. After an early breakfast, you will travel to the Fayoum Oasis, which is located about 2.5 hours south of Cairo. This oasis is famous for its impressive rock formations, valleys, and sand dunes.
You will take a 4×4 safari through Wadi El Rayan, where you can enjoy the waterfalls and swim in the magical Lake Rayan. You will also have the opportunity to practice sandboarding on the sand dunes.
For lunch, you will enjoy a barbecue in the middle of the desert. In the afternoon, you will return to Cairo, where you can rest after a day full of excitement.
This tour lasts approximately 10 to 12 hours. Additionally, you can choose to do some of the optional activities, such as horseback riding in the Village of Tunis, boat rides on the lakes of Fayoum or Rayan, or a birdwatching session.
Day 4: Sailing the Nile Aboard a Dahabiya
Today will be the day of your transfer to Aswan, where you will begin a unique experience aboard a Dahabiya, an elegant traditional Egyptian sailboat.
You will take an early flight from Cairo to Aswan (MS82, 6:45 am).
Once in Aswan, you will be assisted to check in to your Dahabiya.
After a delicious lunch on board, you will set sail for Kom Ombo, where you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. You will also explore the Crocodile Museum, a fascinating site that will immerse you in the history of Egyptian mythology.
In the afternoon or evening, you will return to your Dahabiya to enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night on board.
Day 5: Temple of Horus in Edfu
You will have breakfast on board while the Dahabiya sails to Edfu, one of the most impressive temples in Egypt, dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. Upon arrival, you will take a guided tour of the Temple of Horus, known for its magnificence and excellent preservation.
After the visit, you will have lunch on board and continue sailing down the Nile, enjoying the scenery. You will spend the night on board the Dahabiya, near Esna, where you will have dinner and rest.
Day 6: Return to Hurghada
After breakfast on board, the Dahabiya will sail to Esna, where you will check out and be transferred to Hurghada, one of the most famous cities for its paradisiacal beaches. This transfer takes approximately 3 hours by car.
Upon your arrival in Hurghada, you will check in to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to relax or explore the city at your own pace.
Day 7: Free Day in Hurghada
Today you will have a free day to enjoy the city and its surroundings. If you wish, you can choose from a variety of optional tours to make the most of your time in Hurghada:
- Private half-day city tour: Explore the Corniche, the Marina, the old town, the market, and the fish market, an excellent way to get to know the city.
- Private snorkeling tour: Sail on a sailboat to nearby islands and reefs, where you can snorkel and explore the underwater beauty of the region.
- Quad desert safari: Experience an adventure in the desert and enjoy a Bedouin show with dinner included.
- Swim with dolphins: If you are a lover of marine animals, you will have the opportunity to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat.
You can also opt for diving tours, boat rides, or simply relax on the beaches of Hurghada.
