February 10th: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – VALLEY OF THE ROSES – DADES GORGES

Pick-up from the Riad in Marrakech and departure towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters, offering spectacular panoramic views.

We will visit an Argan Oil cooperative to learn about the production process and the numerous benefits it offers for the human body.

We will continue south and take a 6 km trail leading to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will explore its famous Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This spectacular location has been the backdrop for renowned films such as Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara, among others.

After lunch in the village, we will proceed to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert, where major expeditions begin and where the impressive Taourirt Kasbah stands out.

Leaving Ouarzazate, we will continue towards the Valley of the Roses, passing through the vast palm groves of Skoura and Boumalne, until reaching the Dades Gorges. Overnight stay in the Dades Valley, including dinner and accommodation.

February 11th: DADES GORGES – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DUNES

After breakfast, we will ascend a path to enjoy a strategic viewpoint of the gorges from the mountains before continuing along a road dotted with beautiful Kasbahs, each unique and distinct. After several stops, we will reach one of the highlights of the South: the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved a canyon with towering vertical walls of immense proportions and breathtaking beauty, making it a paradise for climbers and a truly unique spot.

After lunch at the site, we will continue our journey towards the desert, arriving at the stunning Merzouga Dunes. Here, we will enjoy a hospitality tea while taking a moment to relax. We’ll leave our luggage at the camp and set off on a camel caravan. We’ll pause midway to watch the sunset over the dunes and stretch our legs before heading back to the camp.

Before dinner, we will have the chance to enjoy tea while soaking in the peace and silence of the desert.

We’ll spend the night in a traditional haima under a spectacular blanket of stars.

February 12th: MERZOUGA DESERT – ZIZ VALLEY – MIDDLE ATLAS – BOULAJOUL

We wake up before dawn to witness the sunrise. After breakfast, we are already in the desert, and today will be a day of total desert experience.

After a hearty and delicious breakfast, we will circle the Erg Chebbi, a vast sandy desert where the Great Dune of Morocco stands at over 250 meters high. We will connect with part of the old Paris-Dakar rally route, with the mountains bordering Algeria in the background.

We will then continue towards a nomadic settlement where we will learn about their way of life and customs. A later stop will be made at a scenic viewpoint where we can admire the entirety of the Erg Chebbi.

We will arrive in the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with tea while enjoying a small concert of spiritual Gnawa music. Once ready, we will head north, passing through the Tafilalet Palm Grove, where we will see countless palm trees spread over 20 kilometers, making it one of the largest palm groves in the world. After crossing it, we will reach the Ziz Valley, named after the river that flows down from the High Atlas and nourishes the palm grove. Here, we will make a mandatory stop to observe the valley from above and see the village of Aoufous. The day will end with a planned stop in Midelt, right in the heart of the Atlas, where we will rest and spend the night.

February 13th: BOULAJOUL – CEDAR FOREST – FEZ VISIT

After breakfast, we depart towards the Cedar Forest, where, if we’re lucky, we may spot some monkeys. Upon arrival in Fez, we will begin our guided tour of the new part of the city, including a visit to the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Next, we will head to a viewpoint where we can see the entire medina from the South Tower, along with several mosques.

We will then walk through the medina, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its labyrinthine alleys, organized by guilds of potters, dyers, and more, along with the hustle and bustle of the people, will transport you back in time.

You’ll notice that it is a medieval city, and that time seems to have stopped at the clock “Magna Bounania,” 1,200 years after its construction.

February 14th: FEZ – CHEFCHAOUEN

After a delicious breakfast at the Riad, we depart from Fez heading to Chefchaouen, the Blue City, for an overnight stay. The journey will take around 3 hours. Upon arrival in the Blue Village, you will have the afternoon free to explore the town, which is quite small.

Chefchaouen is a city located in the Rif Mountains in the northwest of Morocco. It is famous for the spectacular blue buildings in various shades in its old town, as well as its cobblestone, sloping streets filled with weavers and leather goods. In the shaded main square, Uta el Hammam, you will find the red walls of the Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon with exhibitions

February 15th: CHEFCHAOUEN – TANGIER AIRPORT

After a leisurely breakfast in Chefchaouen, we will depart towards Tangier Airport, which is about a two-hour drive.
