This trip is designed to get a comprehensive look at Sumba, visiting different areas of the island and combining natural landscapes, local culture, and time to enjoy at a relaxed pace.
The pace is balanced, with well-planned journeys and opportunities to rest, especially in the beach areas.
Throughout the tour, you will visit traditional villages, waterfalls, open savannahs, and some of Sumba’s most iconic beaches, always maintaining an authentic approach away from the crowds.
It is a route designed to discover a unique destination in comfort, accompanied by a local guide and with every logistical detail taken care of.

Day 1: Arrival in Waingapu – Hotel
Upon arrival at Waingapu airport in East Sumba, your guide will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Time to check in, rest, and begin adapting to the island’s pace.
Day 2: Hiliwuku Hill – Rende Village – Sunset at Walakiri
We begin the day with a visit to Hiliwuku Hill, which offers expansive views of Sumba’s rolling landscape.
We continue to the traditional village of Rende, where we will discover typical Sumbanese houses, megalithic tombs, and local life.
In the afternoon, we reach Walakiri Beach, famous for its mangroves and peaceful atmosphere. We will stay to enjoy the sunset, one of the most beautiful on the island.

Day 3: Ikat Weaving Village – Tanggedu Waterfall – Puru Kambera Savannah & Beach
After breakfast, we visit a traditional village where we will see how Ikat Tenun weaving is made, an important part of the local culture.
We continue towards Tanggedu Waterfall, crossing open savannahs where it is common to see horses and livestock roaming free. Before arriving, we will make a stop at the Puru Kambera savannah.
The hike to the waterfall is easy, and the views are stunning throughout the journey. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, time to relax at Puru Kambera beach before returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Wairinding Hill – Tarimbang Beach
After breakfast and check-out, we begin our journey towards West Sumba.
The first stop is Wairinding Hill, known for its soft, green rolling hills that seem to go on forever. A perfect place to stop, sit, and calmly enjoy the landscape.

Day 5: Free Day in Tarimbang
Free day to enjoy Tarimbang beach at your own pace. There will be no vehicle or guide available during this day, but optional activities or excursions in the area are available.

Day 6: Anakalang Village – Watubela Beach
After breakfast, we will travel from East Sumba to West Sumba. Our first stop will be Anakalang Village, in Central Sumba, where we will visit an impressive megalithic tomb belonging to the former King of Sumba in Pasunga.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Watubela Beach, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunset.
Transfer to the hotel.

Day 7: Lapopu Waterfall – Praijing Village – Waikacura Rice Fields
After breakfast, we will start the day at the spectacular Lapopu Waterfall, located in the Manupeu Tanah Daru National Park. A walk of approximately 15 minutes.
Then, we will visit the traditional village of Praijing, situated on a hill and surrounded by lush greenery, where you can stroll around and learn about the local lifestyle.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will continue to the Waikacura area, with a short trek through rice fields and views of a small river.
Transfer and check-in at the hotel in Southwest Sumba.

Day 8: Sumba Cultural House – Local Cashews & Coffee – Lendongara Hill
A quiet morning at the hotel. At lunchtime, we depart for a local restaurant. We will visit the Sumba Cultural House, where you can learn more about the island’s history, traditions, and craftsmanship.
Afterward, we visit the Talasi Estate factory, dedicated to the production of local cashews and coffee, including a tasting session.
We end the day at Lendongara Hill, a peaceful spot with views of the hills, the ocean, and nearby villages.

Day 9: Weekuri Lake – Mandorak Beach – Ratenggaro Village – Pero Beach Sunset
Today we explore the southwestern part of Sumba. We start at Weekuri Lake, with its crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming.
We continue to Mandorak Beach (Pantai Mandorak), surrounded by rock formations and transparent water. Picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, we visit the traditional village of Ratenggaro, known for its high-roofed houses and its seaside location (option to change to Buku Bani Village).
We close the day enjoying the sunset at Pero Beach.

Day 10: Departure – Tambolaka Airport
Breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and transfer to Tambolaka airport according to your flight schedule.
