Sumba, a hidden treasure in the Indonesian archipelago, awaits you with open arms to reveal its unparalleled beauty and rich cultural heritage. Located east of Bali, this captivating island offers a unique travel experience, where unspoiled nature intertwines with ancient traditions.

Known for its spectacular scenery, Sumba is a paradise for nature lovers. From dreamy beaches with crystal clear waters to lush hills covered with meadows and breathtaking waterfalls, every corner of the island offers a new wonder to discover.

Day 1

We will discover the charms of the southwest of the island of Sumba in a day full of adventures. We will refresh ourselves in the crystal-clear waters of Weekuri Lake, perfect for a relaxing dip. At Mandorak Beach, we will be impressed by the huge rocks surrounding the beach and its crystal-clear waters.

We will explore Ratenggaro, a charming village with traditional houses and high roofs that will immerse us in the authentic local culture. We will enjoy the sea views from this picturesque beachside settlement. An unforgettable day amidst the nature and tradition of Sumba.

Day 2

We will see the essence of Sumba from Manola Village, a village with history and surrounded by pure nature. We will explore the Waikelo cave after a walk through the rice fields, where we will see local life and a waterfall at the end of the path.

We will continue the adventure in Waikacura, with a peaceful walk through the rice fields and a picturesque river. We will enjoy watching the locals make salt at Katewel Beach and end the day with a stunning sunset from the top of Lendongara Hill. A day full of adventures and spectacular landscapes.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will leave the hotel to explore the west of Sumba. First, we will visit the village of Praijing, a traditional place on top of a hill, surrounded by lush vegetation. We will take our time to walk around the village and learn about life there. Then, we will go to a local restaurant for lunch to recharge.

Afterward, we will venture to Lapopu Waterfall, where we will take a short hike and cross a bamboo bridge to get there. We will enjoy the spectacle of the water and then head to East Sumba to watch the sunset from Wairinding Hill. We will end the day by checking into the hotel and enjoying a comforting dinner.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to visit another impressive waterfall in East Sumba, the Waimarang Waterfall. The steep hike to get there will be quite an adventure, so be prepared! Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit, because you’ll want to take a dip as soon as you arrive! We will provide a packed lunch.

Afterward, we will head to Rende Village, a traditional village where you will find the large megalithic tombs of King Late East Sumba. Connect with the locals and learn more about their culture. Then we will return to the hotel, and if you wish, we will make a stop at Walakiri Beach to enjoy the sunset. You can explore the beach and its beautiful mangroves while watching the sun disappear on the horizon.

After that magical experience, we will return to the hotel to rest and have dinner.*

Day 5

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we will continue our journey with a final visit of the day to a village that produces Ikat Tenun, the traditional textiles of Sumba.

Then, we will have lunch at a local restaurant to recharge. We will visit another beautiful waterfall in East Sumba, the Hidden Waterfall – Laiwi Waterfall, before heading to Tarimbang Beach.

Day 6

At Camp Tarimbang, we will enjoy the perfect disconnection. It is the perfect combination of turquoise waters, miles of white sand beaches alongside lush coastal forests, imposing cliffs on both sides of the bay, and waves breaking on the reef.

We will enjoy days at the camp with beach walks, swimming, snorkeling, and fishing.

Day 7

We will venture on a morning hike to Mambang, followed by a relaxing lunch on the beach and an exciting boat ride back to the camp. We will end the day with a goat barbecue on the beach at sunset.

Day 8

We will explore a hidden waterfall in the jungle after a hike, enjoying a meal prepared by the locals.

Day 9

We will learn to bake traditional buns for breakfast and enjoy more time on the beach with walks, swimming, and snorkeling.

Day 10

We return to Tambolaka for our flight back home, with a stop for lunch in Waikabubak.
